In-Home Care

A CAREGIVER IS WHERE WE START. NOT WHERE WE STOP!

Most agencies send someone to sit with you and call it care. We build a real plan around everything you're up against — the pain no one is treating, the rides you can't get, the home you can't keep up with — and then we go make it happen.

What Makes Us Different

We were built to fix what the usual agency ignores.

If you've worked with home care before, you already know the pattern. Here's where we break it.

The usual agency
  • Sends a caregiver, logs the hours, and that's the whole service.
  • Caregivers are told to observe and wait, not to actually solve anything.
  • One person per household on the paperwork, even when two people need help.
  • You switch agencies and your caregiver goes unpaid while the state catches up.
  • Directories charge you a monthly membership just to look at profiles.
FGLM Home Healthcare
  • A care plan, not a shift. We write down every unmet need — medical, practical, household — and someone owns closing each one.
  • Caregivers with room to actually help. Our caregivers are expected to flag what's wrong and act on it, not sit and watch the clock.
  • We look at the whole household. If your spouse is struggling too, we assess them as their own person and pursue their own coverage.
  • Bring the caregiver you already trust.Family member or someone from another agency — they can come with you, and we work to keep the transition from costing them.
  • Never a subscription.We're a program of a 501(c)(3). You don't pay us to be considered.
What A Care Plan Covers

Everything standing between you and a better quality of life.

Not every plan includes all of this. Yours includes whatever your situation actually calls for.

Advocacy

Someone in your corner with your doctors

Pain that keeps getting brushed off. Equipment that would change your day if the paperwork were done right. We help make sure your needs are documented accurately and follow the request through instead of leaving you to chase it alone.

  • Referral follow-through
  • Equipment requests
  • Appointment prep
  • Provider communication
Transportation

Getting there and back

A missed appointment isn't a scheduling problem, it's a health problem. We make sure you get to your doctors.

A Livable Home

Real cleaning, not just tidying

When mobility makes housework impossible, we can bring in cleaning services — a separate crew, so your caregiver's hours go to you.

The Whole Household

Because it's rarely just one person

An aging spouse doing the caregiving is usually one bad week away from needing care themselves. We assess everyone under the roof as their own person, and pursue the coverage each of them is entitled to.

Personal Care

Daily support with dignity

Bathing, dressing, mobility, medication reminders — handled with patience, never rushed.

Essentials

Groceries, errands, supplies

The running list of small things that quietly pile up when getting out is hard.

Ongoing Review

The plan keeps moving

We check back on what's still open. A plan that never gets revisited isn't a plan.

Good To Know

What we do, and what we don't

We're a licensed Illinois Home Services Agency. That means we provide non-medical care in your home — personal care, homemaking, companionship, transportation, and coordination of everything else you need.

We don't provide skilled nursing, wound care, injections, or physical therapy. If you need those, we'll help you find the right provider and keep working alongside them. Your caregiver can remind you to take medication, but cannot administer it.

Paying For Care

However you're covered, start with us.

We work with insurance and we take private pay. If you're not sure what you have or what it covers, that's a normal place to start — we'll check it for you before you owe anything.

Medicaid Including waiver and consumer-directed programs.
Medicare And Medicare Advantage plans.
Private insurance Commercial plans and long-term care policies.
Private pay No insurance needed. Straightforward rates, no membership.

Every plan is different, and not every plan covers every service. Tell us what you have and we'll verify your benefits and explain exactly what's covered before anything starts — at no cost to you. If a plan won't cover what you need, we'll tell you straight and go over your other options.

How It Works

Four steps. One phone call to start.

Most people reach us in the middle of something hard. We keep the paperwork to a single sitting, and we do it with you.

01

Call and tell us what's hard right now

One conversation, about ten minutes. No forms to download, no paperwork to figure out on your own. Have your ID and insurance card nearby if you have them.

02

We look at the whole picture

A conversation about the household, not a checklist about the diagnosis. What hurts, what's undone, who else is struggling, what's already been tried.

03

We build the plan and name the gaps

You get a caregiver matched to the household — and a written plan listing every unmet need, with a person responsible for chasing each one.

04

We keep pushing

Care starts, and the open items stay open until they're closed. We follow up on the referral, the equipment, the second household member — whatever's still outstanding.

Who We Serve

If you've been told no more than once, start here.

The people who need us most are usually the ones who've already been through two agencies, a denied request, and a stack of paperwork nobody explained.

Already Have Someone?

Bring your caregiver with you

If a family member or an aide from another agency is already caring for you, they can come with you. We handle the transition and work to keep it from costing them income along the way.

For Caregivers

If you got into this to actually help someone, we want to hear from you.

Our caregivers aren't hired to sit and watch. You're expected to notice what's wrong and say so — and there's a coordinator behind you who does something about it.

Already Caring For Someone?

You may be able to get paid for it

If you're a family member caring for someone full time, there may be a program that pays you. Call and we'll look into it with you.

Apply

Send us your resume. That's the whole application.

No long form asking you to retype everything already on your resume. Give us your name, a number to reach you, and the file. We'll call you.

Where We Stand

We stand behind our caregivers.

Abuse of home care workers is rising, and too much of this industry treats it as part of the job. We don't. We've been in your shoes, and we know it is not okay.

You should not have to choose between your safety and your paycheck.

Verbal abuse, threats, harassment, and unwanted physical contact are not acceptable in any home we serve. If it happens to you, you report it and we act on it — no write-up for speaking up, no pressure to go back and tough it out, no loss of hours while we sort it out.

That is a promise we put in writing, not a poster in a break room.

If Something Happens

Leave first. Report second.

If you feel unsafe, you are authorized to leave immediately. Call us from the car. You will not lose pay for the visit, and nobody will second-guess the decision from behind a desk.

What We Do Next

We investigate — and we act

Your report goes to the administrator, not back to the household. Depending on what happened, that can mean a documented conversation, new conditions on the visit, a second staff member present, reassignment, or ending services entirely.

The Hard Part

We don't abandon the client either

Some behavior comes from dementia, pain, or untreated illness — and the person still needs care. When that's the case we change how care is delivered, not whether it happens: different staffing, different hours, a medical referral for what's driving it. What we will never do is send you back into an unsafe home and call it business as usual.

Ready When You Are

Tell us what's hard. We'll take it from there.

Call and you'll reach a person, not a phone tree.
